Following on from their excellent victory against Inverclyde, Dalmuir continued the Glasgow Division a campaign with a home match against Paisley, one of the sides promoted from Division 3.

The home side put out a strong team, outgrading their opponents on all 6 Boards.

Paisley started with a time penalty as a result of arriving after the allotted start time, with the ten minutes loss of time having an effect on the Paisley men in several matches.

First game finished was the Board two match where Nigel Chapman pressurised his opponent into a mistake. The remaining games were closer affairs with the shortage of time coming into play, resulting in wins for Ian Aird, Tommy Tait and Ian McKechnie on Boards 3, 5 and 6 respectively.

On Board 4 Alex Wright picked up a piece early in the game. His opponent, D. Burns then left his Queen en-pris, resulting in Queen / Bishop exchange in favour of Alex. The Paisley player continued for several moves before eventually resigning a lost position.

With the match result secured the only outstanding game was the top board match involving Jamie Mollison. Running short of time Jamie removed the last of his opponent's pawns, giving up his Rook. This left the Paisley top board facing 3 connected passed pawns on the opposite side of the Board from his King, resulting in a resignation.

This final victory gave Dalmuir a clean sweep on the night with a 6 - 0 result, as Dalmuir now sit top of the League at this early stage, and look well placed to be in the mix for promotion.
